Student Communications

The Student Communications team provides assistance and advice on engaging with the University’s student community. The team ensures students have access to the essential information they need to study at ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ – from important enrolment information through to advising of the University’s strategic initiatives, projects and events.

Student Communications develops and executes communication plans for major University-wide strategic initiatives which have a significant impact on students and can also provide support for smaller projects and events, including advising on the best channels to communicate a student message.

Student Communications are happy to help with your request and will provide advice on best practice for student communications. Please see the below fields for our channel requirements:

Broadcast Email

Emails that are appropriate for distribution via broadcast email lists include emergency/safety/crisis notices, IT outages, information that may affect students’ enrolment and exam and results announcements. This communication channel is managed by the Student Communications team.

Digital Screen Advertisements

We have a number of digital screens on each of our campuses that can be used to advertise relevant student content. Advertisements can be targeted at one campus or all campuses. This communication channel is managed by the Student Communications team.

If you require digital screen assets to be produced, please liaise directly with the Design team . Please ensure you have your assets ready before submitting a digital screen request. Our screen dimensions are as followed:

MyÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ

MyÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ is the University’s student portal, allowing access to student email, MySR, vUWS, My Student Records, Timetable and more. There are 10 “cards” on MyÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ, which include relevant information for students and can point to sub-pages for detailed information. This communication channel is managed by the Student Communications team.

Social Media

The University uses social media, including Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter to communicate messages to students and prospective students. The Social Media team is responsible for content development and managing the University’s social media channels. You can request a post on social media by filling out the .

Event Calendar

The Event Calendar can be used to post details about an upcoming event. As your event draws closer, your post will show on the student landing page, or the homepage if it is open to the public. The Event Calendar is managed by the Media Team. You can  

Webpage

Webpages are the best place to include detailed information about your initiative, including images and documents. This can be a place that is pointed to from other communications, particularly when using channels that require a short message. To request a new website or update an existing one, complete the . vUWS

vUWS is the University’s e-learning system. This is where students access learning materials and participate in online activities, individually or online with others. Announcements can be added by completing the form (staff login is required). vUWS is managed by ITDS.
