How to Apply
1. Meet the minimum academic requirements
Applicants must have completed the NSW HSC or Tertiary equivalent.Ìý
2. Apply through Universities Admissions Centre (UAC)
Submit your application through the Universities Admission Centre.ÌýÌýFor 2025 commencement, applications close at Midnight AEST 27 September 2024. Late applications will not be accepted.
You must indicate the Bachelor of Clinical Science (Medicine)/Doctor of Medicine (MD)Ìýat ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ as one of your preferences (UAC code 725505).
You will be asked to indicate a preference to study at either ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ Sydney University or Charles Sturt University. Your University preference will be taken into consideration but is not guaranteed.Ìý Only one offer will be made into the MD Joint Program in Medicine.
3. Provide Supporting Documentation
Confirmation of Aboriginality and Torres Strait Islander Identity
You will be required to provide the following prior to attending an Interview with the School of Medicine.ÌýPlease email documents toÌýadmissions@westernsydney.edu.au and ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵFutureDr@westernsydney.edu.au. Alternatively, documents can be lodged in person to any Campus Student Centre or mailed to:

Documentation Required
A certified copy of your confirmation of identity from a registered Community Organisation (e.g. Land Council) with a common seal confirming a person to be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent
If you are unable to provide the above, you will need to supply a self-declaration statutory declaration along with one of the following:
1. Supporting documentation in the form of a genealogy document (such as Linkup NSW)
OR
2. A letter of support using the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ Sydney University template or an official letterhead by a recognised community member or organisation (such as Aboriginal Medical Service, High School Principal, Aboriginal Education Consulting Group, Family and Community Services, Aboriginal Housing or other Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander incorporated corporation).

4. Attend Interview
Interviews are held in early November.
If you are invited to an interview, there will generally be questions about motivation, educational experience and aspirations, though the most important criterion is your passion and desire to become a doctor.
Applicants will need to provide supporting documentation such as a transcript of academic records, resumes and other documents of community involvement.
The structured panel below will take all these factors into account when making an offer.
