ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ Sydney University is a global leader in gender equality, recently recognised as 1st in the world for Gender Equality and 3rd for Reducing Inequalities by the (opens in a new window). The University has been recognised as an (opens in a new window) for over 19 years, and has been awarded the prestigious (opens in a new window) medal under the Science in Gender Equity (SAGE) Program.
The University offers a wide range of supports and resources to assist students and staff to achieve equal access and opportunity across all aspects of their study and work.

ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ Sydney University is an Athena Swann Bronze Award recipient under the SAGE program. The University has developed a comprehensive four-year Athena SWAN Action Plan for implementation across 2019-2023. This plan is based on a thorough self-assessment of organisational data, systems, structure, and culture. This Action Plan provides further platforms of opportunity for women, trans and gender diverse staff within our STEMM disciplines.
ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ Sydney University reports annually to the Workplace Gender Equality Agency on our University’s gender equality data, policy and strategy framework. Additionally, the University has been recognised as an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality for 17 consecutive years.
The Vice-Chancellor's Gender Equality Committee (GEC) was established by the Vice-Chancellor in 2015.This group acts as an advisory body on gender equity policy, strategy and practice with the ultimate goal of promoting and improving gender equality across the whole University.
Vice-Chancellor Gender Equity Fund
The Vice-Chancellor Gender Equity Fund offers staff the opportunity to apply for small grants to support the facilitation of gender equity initiatives and promotion of workplace inclusion at ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ Sydney University.
